At Clayton Homes Hermiston we are always keeping an eye on what the interest rates are doing.
While we don't offer in house financing, we do partner with many lenders both nationwide and local. Therefore, it is important to us to be in the know so we may help guide our customers to a home that will best fit with their individual budget needs.
As of today 9/16/25, the national average interest rate for a 30-yr fixed is 6.13%, last year at this time rates for a 30-yr fixed was 6.37%. (source: MND rate index)
Buying a home and getting pre-approved for a mortgage loan can cause some trepidation. We are here to help guide you through the process.
We offer a step-by-step process for the homebuying process. First, we give you a list that lenders will need to start your pre-approval process, next we tour the homes with you and help you find a floorplan and price that works best for you. Once you pay your deposit ($2500 that goes toward the purchase of your home) then we meet you at your property where your home will go and make sure that any land developments that need to happen are documented, we partner with one of our 3rd party contractors to ensure the property can accommodate the home, they then put a bid together. Once that is done and you have your lending in place we bundle the price of the home with the bid and then order your home with the options you pick. It can take 6-10 weeks for your home to be completed, during this time our contractors are working on the land developments. Once that is complete, we deliver your home, set it up and do the finish work on the inside. We have it professionally cleaned and it's time for a welcome home tour to show you all of the Smarthome features your home offers. This is the whole process, and we are here every step of the way jumping over any hurdles with you and for you.
